My positive experiencesI started out not knowing anything on how to use Illustrator, even though the tools were similar to Photoshop. I started out only knowing how to do simple things, and I really wanted to do more complicated things, which led me to the Pen Tool which I have been really frustrated with as of late. My negative experiencesThe only negative experience I have ha so far with Illustrator is the pen tool. Even after practice, I have still not mastered it to the degree of which I can make the things I want to. I am worried that I may never be able to use the Pen Tool, mostly due to my inability to make the curves right, because the things you use to move the angles are quite confusing. Illustrator in the Game IndustryOne quite obvious thing Illustrator can be used for in the game industry, is the use of it for digital badges, of which we have already found out. Vector graphics may be used when mapping textures for most video games for the younger populations. I have not learned much use for illustrator as regard to the game industry, but I do understand that it is used in logos. To sum it up...

Quick SelectQuick select is a very useful tool due to the ability to move images. This has also been useful in many previous assignments such as the Andy Warhol stuff that we did back at the beginning of the year. It is a great alternative to the magic wand tool due to its ability to create more fine edges. Magic Wand ToolThe magic wand tool is a tool in Adobe Photoshop that is very similar to the Quick Select tool above, but it is more useful when you have a piece of ONE COLOR or very similar colors, much like we did back in the Layering a Sandwich activity back in Quarter 1. It takes much less time to use than the Polygon lasso tool or the magnetic lasso tool, if used in the proper circumstance. Which one is betterLike I have stated above, both have their uses and times that they are useful. However, if I had to pick one, I would have to choose Quick Select due to it's wide versatility and the ability to use it for almost anything. You will usually find that the most fundamental pieces of something are the most important, and that is the case here, due to these being, arguably, the two best tools in all of Photoshop. To sum it up...- The Quick Select tool is the best tool - Both the Magic Wand and Quick select have their uses - There are many other useful tools, these are just the best References“The Quick Selection Tool - Photoshop Selections.” Photoshop Essentials, 26 Sept. 2018, www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/selections/quick-selection-tool/.

Hungry Shark Evolution This is a screenshot of Hungry Shark Evolution. This image showcases the different playable shark types. The smallest shark is the reef shark, on the bottom right, all the way up to the Mosasaurus, which is not a shark, but was put in anyways. About composition, I do believe that this image showcases good design elements, as it is taken right from the developers. First of all, it showcases good skill in alignment, due to the words being separate from the sharks. In addition, this image uses the Rule of Odds to help in the composition, due to there being nine sharks. Next, the image shows good examples of size, as the sharks are scaled in proportion to the other sharks, giving the viewer a reference of how big these sharks are. This image also uses color to showcase the real colors that these sharks are, or were in real life. Overall, I believe this image showcases good use of the elements and principles of design. Minecraft Minecraft uses shapes to create things that you would not believe possible. First of all, see those hearts, armor torsos and chicken wings down there? Yes, that is made of squares. However, it also uses color to achieve more realism, which it otherwise lacks. With all that said however, the things you see done with a simple polygon, the square, can be immense as you have seen. This image also uses the Rule of Thirds, due to the sword being placed in the lower right, a proven place the human eye scans first in an image in the N format. Overall, this image is not very demonstrative of the elements and principles of design, unlike the to image. To sum it up... |
