So what will be coming for the rest of 2021?Let us first look back at 2020 in order to predict what might happen in the mobile game industry in 2021. First of all, it is important to note that the mobile gaming industry is very large, grossing over a billion dollars. This is partially because mobile games are typically easy to access, usually being free or having a very low cost attached to them. How they make their money is through more deceptive means than many PC games which involve large upfront costs. They do this through in-app purchases, which allow the user to buy in-game products with real currency. This is spreading into the PC industry as companies seek to find ways to earn more money. With that context out of the way, there is another reason why the amount of players and revenue has increased from 2019. One such reason is due to the Wuhan coronavirus which spread all over the world in 2020 and early 2021 contributing to the deaths of millions of people. With more people inside and having more free time, it allows for more people to play mobile games. For example, the amount of players rose 12 percent from 2019 for mobile games. With more players playing the games, they buy more products which is used to buy advertisements which is shown by the fact that mobile game ads were the most popular mobile advertisements on apps. In short

The changeAccording to Forbes magazine, the gaming industry has changed much over the years and now it is becoming comparable to social media in many different ways. First of all, the video game industry has grown more than 20% in the past year alone, and the platforms that they use are growing also as social networks, such as X-box live. Another example of the growth in the social connectedness of the video game industry comes with the growth of broadcasting platforms such as Twitch which allows people to connect with their audience whilst playing video games. Finally, it also provides a new way to create new relationships that has not existed before. My thoughtsThis change that has been occurring for the last decade or so has been very positive for the most part. For example the growth of the social networks is a very positive development because it allows for more people to connect over games that could not have happened before. Second of all, the broadcasting platforms are also a positive development because they allow for people to find people who play their games and thus helps make the games more popular and in turn creates more people who play those games. In short, the growth in the social nature of video games has been a very positive development indeed. Summary

As of late, I have been working in the Unity game engine for class. Whilst in this game engine, I have learned a great many things such as the general interface in Unity, how to move around and how to create a few basic objects in addition to applying motion to objects using physics. I would have to say the thing that amazed me the most about the Unity game engine would have to be the easy ability to set an object into motion using physics. This amazes me the most because I assumed that you would have to program the game engine to do that, and you don't have to, it does it automatically. I found it easiest to build in Unity which surprised me as I had trouble doing that while working with 3DS. This just shocked me as to how easy it was to just mess around with parameters to make something look great. Although there were many things I was able to easily grasp in Unity such as physics, I found a variety of things to be very hard. One of these things is materials, as I accidentally applied the material to the wrong object and I was unable to remove it without removing the object, which really frustrated me. I also found it hard to move around in the Unity engine, partially because I was told too late and I had problems applying the LEGO brick to go where I wanted it to go, so I had to create multiple duplicates in order for it to finally work. This really frustrated me when I found out how to pan, but I calmed down and moved on. Overall, I dislike the Unity game engine, as I feel that it is too low budget and it is not used by many of the big game companies, so it has little use, because you want to learn a game engine that is going to have a wide use.
